Can I rent a furnished apartment in Ghent for just one month?
Yes. Every StayMonthly home is rented by the month, with a minimum stay of 30 nights. Longer stays are welcome, and you choose between a fixed end date or full flexibility.
What is included in the monthly rent?
Each home is fully furnished and equipped: kitchenware, coffee machine, washer, dryer and dishwasher are all there. Water and wifi are included in the monthly price. Gas and electricity are billed separately.
What is the difference between a fixed term and full flexibility?
With a fixed term you agree on an end date when you book and pay our lowest monthly rate. With full flexibility no end date is fixed: you give notice when your plans become clear, and you leave the following month. Flexibility costs €200 more per month.
How does notice work on the flexible rate?
Tell us on or before the 14th of a month and you leave on the 1st of the following month. From the 15th onwards, your departure moves to the 1st of the month after that. For example: notice on 14 September means you leave on 1 October; notice on 16 September means 1 November.
How do I book, and is it confirmed immediately?
You send a booking request through the site with your dates and contact details. It is not an instant booking: we check availability and confirm by email within 48 hours, or propose an alternative if your dates are taken.
Who are the apartments for?
Our guests are mainly expats arriving in Ghent, professionals on a temporary assignment and people who need a comfortable home for a few months. If you need a furnished place in Ghent for one month or longer, StayMonthly is made for you.
Where are the homes located?
Maison Gustave is on the Muinkkaai, on the banks of the Leie, a short walk from the historic centre. Belfort Residence is in the city centre, near the Belfry and the Veldstraat. South House is a detached house in green Merelbeke, about ten minutes by train from the centre of Ghent.
Is parking available?
Yes. A parking space can be booked at each of our homes for €100 per month. Just mention it in your booking request.
Can I add extras such as cleaning or extra linen?
Yes. A cleaning service and extra bed linen and towels can be booked on request, and so can a parking space (€100 per month). Just mention it in your booking request or ask us afterwards.
Do I pay tourist tax in Ghent?
If you stay in one of our apartments in Ghent (Maison Gustave or Belfort Residence) without registering your residence there and without an exemption from the City of Ghent, the city's tourist tax applies: €7.40 per person per night. Guests under 18 are exempt. South House is in Merelbeke, outside the city of Ghent. The current rules are on the City of Ghent website: visit.gent.be.
How can I pay, and can I get an invoice?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Bancontact, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay through SumUp. Transaction costs are passed on at cost. Booking on invoice is possible.
Is there a deposit, and which law applies?
Once we accept your booking request, we ask for a €500 reservation option to secure your dates. When your stay begins, it is offset against the deposit of two months' rent. Belgian residential tenancy law applies to every stay.
